It's no secret that every settlement in Armenia can be involved in a conflict or emergency situation at any time due to ongoing security issues. 

Additionally, the preparation level of the civilian population and territorial defense units is inadequate, leading to high civilian casualties.

The recent events have also demonstrated that cities and villages are not prepared enough for possible escalations.

Consider a community in which the population has special equipment for conflict and emergency situations, is capable of organizing reliable defense, knows what to do, and is prepared for any change of the situation. Toward this goal, we aim to establish territorial defense units in the cities of Syunik and Vayots Dzor regions.

With this project, we plan to provide the following items to a 100-person territorial defense unit, formed among the civilian population in one of the bordering cities:

In emergency situations, civilians will act in a more systematic and competent manner, defend themselves more effectively, and become way more self-organized. 

Territorial defense units will be established in Vayots Dzor and Syunik to protect their territories, and important objects, as well as to support the work of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the police, and the army.

We have already started working with the residents of these communities, relevant authorities, and suppliers.

For its part, VOMA conducts and will continue conducting trainings aimed at improving general skills. Various courses will continue to be offered aimed at providing special knowledge, such as sports training, technical knowledge & skills improvement, and first aid. 

We need financial resources to make this crucial project a reality.

VOMA (The Art of Staying Alive) is a non-governmental organization that has been conducting training courses in Yerevan and the regions of the Republic of Armenia since 2016.

The organization is headed by Vova Vartanov, the founder of the 1st Reconnaissance-sabotage group of Armenia.

By training the population of cities & villages and establishing territorial defense units, VOMA aims to increase Armenia's defense potential.
